The IndyCar Series is one of the most popular motorsport series in the USA alongside the NASCAR Series. Up until 2004, all of the races were held exclusively on oval tracks. Unlike Formula One, the teams do not manufacture the chassis and engine themselves but buy them ready made from the best manufacturer.
